Suspected killers of Nigerian pizza delivery man arrested

Pittsburgh police arrested two people in connection with the shooting death of a Nigerian Domino’s Pizza delivery driver over the weekend in East Liberty.

D’Ambrosse Garland, 18, and Timothy Walls, 17, were charged Thursday with homicide and other offenses in the death of 56-year-old Abdulganiyu Sanusi.

Mr. Sanusi — who police identified by his American name, Patrick Adesanya — was shot about 12:20 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of North St. Clair Avenue while on a delivery run.

Police said they received help from the public in tracking down the suspects, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports
Investigators traced the suspects to a location in Lincoln-Lemington, where they were taken into custody about 5 p.m. Thursday.

 

Mr. Sanusi was a well-known figure in the city’s Muslim community and regularly attended services at the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh. He had been living in the Pittsburgh area since 2016.

Mr. Sanusi’s surviving relatives include his wife, seven children and one grandchild in Lagos, Nigeria, a niece and nephew in Turtle Creek, and other extended family members in the U.S.
